The main areas of focus include youth leadership, youth employability, children's health, safety, poverty, child labor, trafficking and the environment. Programs or projects can be cultural; arts-based (music, dance, photography, etc.); social (including projects or programs promoting diversity); educational; economic; environmental: or health-based.
The particular focus of the Summit will be to showcase programs and projects able to demonstrate their success, and describe the key actions/activities/characteristics related to achieving that success. Presentations must also include information that supports the program as being “evidence-based or highly promising or considered best practices.”
WHAT? Approximately 25 to 30 researchers will present posters that describe their particular practice and some of the research evaluation and outcomes which pertain to that practice. The program of the Summit consists of a plenary session, poster sessions, and break out sessions. Each individual will be invited to participate in a discussion group related to his field of expertise. We will also invite policy makers such as government officials or senior agency officials from around the world who are in influential positions and who could advance the sustainability of the best practices. All poster sessions will be presented in English.
The O.P.C.R. has already successfully organized five international conferences as well as a Summit with an international breadth on the theme of Children, Poverty and Violence , in 2004. |
