| The
Changing Family: Vulnerability and Adaptation |

The Organization for the Protection
of Children’s Rights (O.P.C.R) organized a 2nd
International Conference on the Child with the theme
: «The Changing Family: Vulnerability and Adaptation».
This conference was held on October 8, 9 and 10, 1992 at the Sheraton
Center in Montreal.

| More than 150 speakers took part in
this important international forum. Among the participating countries
at this conference were: Argentina, England, Barbados, Belgium, Canada,
United States, France, Italy, Netherlands and Thailand. |
|
| The goal of this
international event was to initiate discussions between professionals,
with various specializations, who have the cause of children at
heart. The participants worked on defining the prevention tools
and required means to resolve problems that particularly affect
children. |

| The participants gathered together
at the various workshops and round tables to discuss issues related
to: |

Sexual Abuse: Therapeutic
and Ethical Aspects; |

Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome; |
| • |
The Child and His/Her Attorney:
Who Speaks for Whom?; |

The Changing Family:
A Place for the Child in Family Reorganization Decisions; |

Resources and Services, etc.

| Through this initiative, the
Organization for the Protection of Children’s Rights
managed to bring together professionals who are committed to ensuring
the best possible development for children and the family and establishing
interactive, dynamic and harmonious relationships among the parties. |
